Sustainability * Slow Fashion * Heritage

Core Value

At Khanijo, fashion transcends aesthetics; it's anarrative woven from threads of heritage, sustainability, and innovation. The brand explores theintersection of fashion and anthropology, creatinggarments that honor India's rich textile traditionswhile embracing modern design principles.

Indigenous Material Sourcing

“We work with the land, not against it.”

Khanijo actively sources handwoven, natural, and biodegradable fibers from traditional clusters across India — from Kala cotton in Kutch to Ahimsa silk in Assam and indigenous wool from Ladakh.

Community-Driven Craftsmanship

“Each thread connects us to a maker, a memory, a meaning.”

Many of our textiles are developed through revived weaving techniques, regional dye processes, and labor-intensive handwork, preserving cultural knowledge that might otherwise be lost.

Biomimicry & Material Innovation

“We mimic nature to make fashion that heals, not harms.”

Inspired by the principle of biomimicry, we study natural textures, growth patterns, and surfaces to design fabrics and garments that respond to the body and environment — breathable, durable, and regenerative

Slow Fashion as Resistance

Every Khanijo garment is designed to last, both stylistically and physically.

Our approach resists the fast-paced consumption model, offering clothes that are not just bought, but kept,

Repair

"Equal parts vintage, classic, and contemporary, Khanijo’s understated designs are an ode to a time before ready-to-wear clothes when all clothes were tailor-made for the wearer and the bespoke nature of personal style reflected both craftsmanship and culture."
